Please Note:
- Before registration, a down payment of R9 300 (est.) will apply. This amount will be seen as a deposit and will be deducted from your total module fees.
- This fee does not include books, meals, transportation and accommodation.
- Depending on the accommodation and route of travel a student can budget approximately R4000.00 – R8000.00 per study visit.
How long will the application process take before I will have a final answer?
It will take between 30 to 40 days from the moment that you hand in your completed application to you receiving a written letter from us informing you about the result.
What is the first step in the application process?
The first step is to complete and submit the online application forms and submit all your relevant documentation. Please see the 'How to Apply' link.
When does the programme start?
The programme starts in the third week of February of each year and an academic year consists of two semesters, each with a block release week augmented by online sessions and blended learning. The first semester starts in February till May and the second semester starts in July till November. There is a recess from December to January.
How many classes will I have to attend each semester?
All classes are offered through block release sessions twice in a semester– Feb (Physical at NMU Business School in Gqeberha or formerly known as Port Elizabeth) and May (Virtually and using the Moodle Online Platform) for the 1st Semester and July (Physical at NMU Business School in Gqeberha) and October (Virtually and using the Moodle Online Platform) for the 2nd Semester.
What do I have to pay and when?
A South African student's first payment will be towards a non-refundable fee for your SHL/NMAT/GMAT test. An International Applicant's first payment will include a non-refundable Application Fee (R500.00) as well.
Can I pay in instalments?
Nelson Mandela University MMM fees can be paid in three instalments per year, which makes it a very affordable option for students who are not being sponsored.
Can I receive credits for modules completed in other qualifications on a Masters level?
The Higher Education Qualification Committee (HEQC) allows accredited Masters programmes to only afford credits for related modules completed on another accredited Masters Programme in Maritime Management or International Maritime Transport and Logistics. As an institution, we can offer only up to 40% of credits for modules done elsewhere.
