ICT Services’ Senior Systems Engineer: Information Security Dr Ryno Boshoff (centre), who received his DBA at the graduation, with his study leaders Business School’s Prof Margaret Cullen (left) and Computing Sciences Prof Andre Calitz.

Ryno received his DBA researching an adaptive internet management model for higher education institutions in South Africa. His study leaders were Computing Sciences Prof Andre Calitz and the Business School’s Prof Margaret Cullen.

Prof Cullen was also Hildegarde’s supervisor, whose treatise for her MBA focussed on factors affecting female students studying engineering at a higher education institution.

“Studying towards our postgraduate qualifications while working was not an easy task to complete. Luckily, we both were in the same mindset, wanting to achieve the same goals and studying in the same field of study. This helped us to support one another physically and emotionally during this journey. In the end, the entire experience turned out to be that of a pleasant one,” said Ryno.
